ABOUT THE AUTHOR
"Hi," my name is Will Howe. Years ago, I graduated from high school a semester early and spent 6 weeks in Brazil. It was a trip that changed my life. I came back with a profound fascination with language and culture. I was tempted to stay longer but was also eager to begin my career in aviation.
Flashback...In the late 90s I realized I wanted to write about "what I know" and so enrolled in a fiction writing class at The University of Chicago.
What inspired me to begin my formal journey 'one stepping-stone at a time' as an author were the encouraging words of support from my writing teacher.

What I love about fiction is the limitless ways it can connect with and inspire readers. I believe the best stories are the ones that give examples of overcoming adversity with optimism, passion and perseverance.

Most of Sticks in the Clouds was written at the 'Champ de Mars,' at the base of the Eiffel Tower, in between Trans-Atlantic crossings in my former life as a pilot.
It is my hope, that in my first novel, Sticks in the Clouds, people will relate to Matt, fall for Olga, learn something about aviation and Cuba, and come away with the message that sometimes ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things.
